탄생캐가 뭐예요?
탄생석, 탄생화처럼 누구에게나 하나씩 있는 탄생 캐릭터예요. 태어난 날과 시간을 사주(四柱)로 바꾸면 60가지 동물 캐릭터 중 하나가 정해지고, 태어난 달·사주 속 기운에 따라 종이와 소품, 부적 스티커가 붙어 세상에 하나뿐인 카드가 돼요. 파란 호랑이, 라일락 돼지, 노란 용 — 넌 뭐야?
왜 만들었어요?
한국에서 사주는 "나는 어떤 사람인가"를 이야기할 때 가장 흔하게 꺼내는 언어인데, 보통은 어렵고 무겁고 조금 무섭게 생겼어요. 탄생캐는 그걸 다이어리 꾸미기 감성의 작은 카드로 바꿨어요. 결정론이 아니라 놀이로. 혼자 보는 결과가 아니라 친구와 나누는 카드로.
어떻게 정해져요?
- 캐릭터 — 사주의 일주(태어난 날의 기둥) 60가지. 12지 동물에 천간의 오행색을 입혔어요. 甲은 선명한 파랑, 乙은 민트, 丙은 빨강, 丁은 분홍, 戊는 노랑, 己는 베이지, 庚은 흰색, 辛은 은빛, 壬은 검정, 癸는 라일락.
- 종이 — 태어난 달(월지)의 계절. 봄 체크, 여름 도트, 가을 크라프트, 겨울 눈, 환절기 베이지.
- 소품 — 사주에서 가장 센 기운(십신). 도시락, 마이크, 저금통, 책 같은 물건으로.
- 부적 — 신살·귀인(천을귀인, 도화, 역마, 괴강 등)을 부적 스티커로, 최대 3장.
- 희귀도 — 일반·희귀·영웅·전설·환상 다섯 단계. 1950년부터 2026년까지 모든 날과 시간을 같은 확률로 돌려 정한 이론 비율이에요. 계산 방식은 자주 묻는 질문에 그대로 적어 뒀어요.
계산은 절기 기준 월주, 서울 기준 진태양시 보정을 쓰는 표준 만세력 방식이에요. 음력 생일도 넣을 수 있어요.
지키는 것
- 생년월일시는 저장하지 않아요. 계산은 지금 쓰는 브라우저 안에서만 일어나고, 서버로 보내지 않아요.
- 카드와 공유 링크에 생년월일시를 적지 않아요. 카드 번호·계절·소품·부적·희귀도·닉네임만 들어가요.
- 캐릭터에 성별이 없어요.
- 사주는 인생을 결정하지 않아요. 탄생캐는 나를 이해하고 친구와 이야기 나누는 용도이고, 의료·법률·투자 판단의 근거가 아니에요.
- 남의 생일을 대신 넣어 카드를 만드는 기능은 만들지 않아요. 친구 카드는 친구가 직접 만들어야 내 도감에 들어와요(준비 중).

What is Tansaengkae?
Like a birthstone or a birth flower, everyone has a birth character (탄생캐, tansaeng-kae). Convert your birth date and time into Saju — the Korean Four Pillars of Destiny — and one of 60 tiny animal characters is yours. Your birth month picks the paper, your chart's strongest energy picks the prop, and the stars in your chart become charm stickers, so every card ends up one of a kind. A blue tiger, a lilac pig, a yellow dragon — which one are you?
Why we made it
In Korea, Saju is the most common language for talking about "what kind of person I am" — but it usually looks difficult, heavy and a little scary. Tansaengkae turns it into a small card with the feel of diary-decorating stickers. Play, not fate. A card to share with friends, not a result to read alone.
How a card is decided
- Character — the day pillar of your chart, one of 60. Twelve zodiac animals wearing the color of the heavenly stem: 甲 is vivid blue, 乙 mint, 丙 red, 丁 pink, 戊 yellow, 己 beige, 庚 white, 辛 silver, 壬 black, 癸 lilac.
- Paper — the season of your birth month (by solar terms). Spring gingham, summer dots, autumn kraft, winter snow, beige for the in-between months.
- Prop — the strongest of the ten relationships (십신) in your chart, as an everyday object: a lunchbox, a microphone, a piggy bank, a book.
- Charms — stars in your chart (noble star, peach blossom, wanderer and so on) as charm stickers, up to three.
- Rarity — five levels: Common, Rare, Heroic, Legendary, Mythic. A theoretical ratio from running every day and hour between 1950 and 2026 with equal weight. The method is written out in the FAQ.
The calculation follows the standard Korean almanac method: month pillars by solar terms, apparent-solar-time correction for Seoul. Lunar birthdays are accepted.
What we keep to
- Your birth date and time are never stored. The calculation runs inside your browser and is not sent to any server.
- The card and the share link never contain your birth date or time — only the card number, season, prop, charms, rarity and the nickname you typed.
- Characters have no gender.
- Saju does not decide your life. Tansaengkae is for understanding yourself and talking with friends, not a basis for medical, legal or financial decisions.
- We do not build a feature for entering someone else's birthday on their behalf. A friend's card only enters your collection when the friend makes it themselves (coming soon).
What's next
An overview report (free, why this combination on one page) and a detailed report (paid, this year's and age-by-age flow — the reading text is generated with Anthropic's Claude, after our own engine fixes the chart facts), a "My People" collection filled through invite links, group cards and printed photocards are in the works.
